The whole Sun. Move the mouse over the image to see the designations. There is also
another spot numbered 10801 (SW of 10800) but I don't think I can see it.
Date and Time: 21th August 2005 07:09 UT
Camera: ToUcam 740K
Telescope: 270 mm SLR
Capture: K3CCDTools. Low gamma, B/W, 1/250", 19% gain, 344 frames
Processing: Registax. 165 frames stacked. Wavelets 1 = 10, 2 = 5, contrast 170
A closer view of sunspots 10797 (the little one) and 10798 (the large one). Spot 10798
has grown considerably since I was last able to image it three days ago. It now looks a
bit like 10797 did then.
Date and Time: 21th August 2005 07:26 UT
Camera: ToUcam 740K
Telescope: ETX125 at prime focus.
Capture: K3CCDTools. Low gamma, B/W, 1/250", 20% gain, 624 frames.
Processing: Registax. 177 frames stacked. Wavelets 1-3 = 10, contrast 135, brightness -40
An even closer view of sunspot 10798. It was taken with my X2 lens attached to
the ETX125. I have never felt that this extra magnification is really justified
but here it is for what it is worth. (Compare it with the picture above. I
think you will see why I don't usually try this.)
