This is my Atik 1-HS. It is based on the ToUcam but is modified commercially for long exposures and the CCD has been replaced by a monochrome one which has better resolution, more sensitivity, and less noise. I have also carried out the Raw Modification on it. It works very well and I am pleased with the results I have got from it. It does, however, have two features I do not like. 1. The cable is very heavy (and plenty long enough) and terminates in a parallel-port plug from which emerges a short, light cable with the USB plug attached. 2. I'm not sure how the back of the case is supposed to be secured but it appears to be a press fit. The weight of the cable tends to pull it off. I have had to secure it with sticky tape. (I bought the camera second hand. Maybe it was glued on originally.) |
