About Us
We are a small, friendly British Judo Association affiliated club based in Basildon. The club has been running for over 10 years and the instructors have almost a century of collective Judo experience to call upon. We run both Junior (5 to 16) and Senior mats as well as competing in competitions locally, nationally and internationally.
Instructors
Terry Adams - 6th Dan Terry has over 50 years of judo experience and is also the senior examiner for Essex
Gary Diebelius - 5th Dan Gary has been British Masters champion, World Masters silver medallist and has competed against some of the best competitors in the world.
Peter Daly - 3rd Dan An international competitor, Peter has fought with and alongside some of the true greats of Judo.
John McCarthy - 3rd Dan A European Masters silver medallist, John has extensive Judo experience, particularly in ground work where he particularly excels.
Honorary Instructor
David Starbrook - 9th Dan An International Competitor, Olympic Silver Medallist 1972, Bronze Medallist 1976, World Bronze Medallist 1973, European Silver Medallist 1973, European Bronze Medalist 1974 & 1975 and British Open Champion 9 times.
