Q. What is Judo?

A. Judo (literally translated from Japanese means "The Gentle Way") is a Japanese martial art originally derived from Jujitsu. It has also become an Olympic sport. You can use Judo as a means of self-defence, a means of getting fit even as a way of life.

Q. Can anyone do Judo?

A. Judo is a very accessible sport. You don't have to be a super fit person to do Judo. Judo is open to all ages, both sexes, able-bodied and disabled people alike.

Q. What do I need?

A. Initially, you won't need anything. You can start by wearing tracksuit bottoms and a T-Shirt. Once you've decided that Judo is for you you'll need to buy a Judo Gi (Judo suit), but these can be bought for under £30.
