Our flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe airport in the small Zambia Skyways plane was very pleasant - the cruising height was only 10,000 feet, so we were able to see much of the countryside we were passing over. Just before landing we crossed a drying tributary of the Luangwa River. The Camp was centred around the Restaurant Bar, very pleasant staff, and superb views down to the Luangwa River.
Wildlife around the camp itself, the elephants swam the river from the National Park side. Gin and tonics were the order of the evening, and mixed well with the Puku! We only saw one snake the whole time, it lived in the roof of the Bar and preyed on the rather ugly tree frogs which also made their home there!
The main activities organised from the camp were game drives and walks. We went on a number of drives, and were afforded marvellous views of wildlife. See the South Luangwa page.
