Although I have had much pleasure out of my Artemis CCD camera, with the purchase in June 2007 of the 12" LX200R telescope, I felt a more advanced instrument was needed to use with that telescope (and of course others in my 'stable'). In particular a larger chip and accurate guiding would be necessary. I eventually settled on an ST8 XME from Santa Barbara Instrument Group, which at the time was on special offer including a Class 1 chip and motorised filter wheel at no extra cost. This camera has a built in guide chip alongside the main imaging sensor, so allowing potentially excellent guiding, and the possibility of future use with an Adaptive Optics unit. More details to come when I complete a page in my Equipment section.
I've split the images into year groups to minimise the download time.
