| I have been informed by one who knows more about these things than I do that my discussion of the lunar day was in error in a number of detailed but important respects. I have therefore removed the page while I try to rewrite it correctly. I hope this will not take too long. I am very concerned that the information on this web site is as accurate as I can make it. Meanwhile I am also informed that my prefered way to calculate the age of the Moon is non-standard. However the method does give a better representation of the phase than the conventional method. However throughout my pages when I refer to the age of the Moon, I should really refer to the phase of the Moon (or even better to the percent illumination). It will take a long time for me to make these alterations so, for the time being, for age please read phase. . |
