This picture makes an interesting contrast to those taken on 28th May 2005.
Here, Europa and Ganymede are about as far from Jupiter as they ever appear to be.
Fortunately Callisto was close to the planet; its real distance is almost twice
as far from Jupiter as is Ganymede so that when it is at its greatest elongation
it is very difficult to include it on the same picture as Jupiter. This picture
is a mosaic of two pictures taken at prime focus of my LX200. One picture covered
Europa, Jupiter, and Io, the other covered Io, Callisto, and Ganymede.
The picture is large and you may have to scroll to the right to see Ganymede.
The mouseover image, labelling the satellites, has had its gamma increased to 2.0
in order to show Callisto clearly.
